Why Apila exists.
Large consultancies have a familiar pattern: a senior director wins the work, then the delivery passes to whoever is available. The client buys experience and receives dilution. Apila was founded to remove that gap. The firm stays deliberately focused so that the person who wins the work is the person who delivers it, on every project, from first conversation to completion.
How Apila works.
Every engagement runs on the same discipline. Strategy first, because the cheapest problems are the ones designed out before commitment. A live programme and a managed risk register, because control is a daily habit rather than a monthly report. And governance that makes decisions easy to take and easy to defend: every reporting cycle delivers an executive summary, the full position behind it, and a Decisions Required section. We manage it, you govern it.

Apila is led by a chartered construction professional. Johnny Clover is MRICS qualified, which means the work is governed by professional standards, continuing obligations and accountability that clients can rely on. Chartered status is not a badge on a slide. It is the standard the work is held to.
The name.
Apila is the Finnish word for Clover. It is a nod to the founder's name, and a reminder that the firm is personal: when you appoint Apila, you know exactly who you are getting.
